Marketing and PR Experience

We Like L.A. serves as a launchpad to advertising and marketing partnerships with a who’s who of Los Angeles-area institutions and international brands. Fostering and maintaining relationships is one of the things I do best, and as far as relationships go, it turns out they are a pretty big deal when it comes to monetizing a media operation.

Below are just some of the partners we’ve worked with:

Of course, some projects stand out more than others. Below are a just a few of my favorites that I’ve been lucky enough to work on:

  • In 2019, I co-produced a project with Visit San Bernardino showcasing attractions and visitor points of interest throughout the county. Via long-form written guides and short-form teaser videos, We Like L.A.’s content tallied more than 600,000 impressions over the course of the campaign.
  • From 2018-19, we worked with the Hilton marketing team on L.A.-area content creation for their travel blog, including long-form guides for Orange County and Long Beach.
  • In 2016, We Like L.A. jumped on board as the very first media sponsor for the (then) brand new Masters of Taste, a food festival fundraiser at The Rose Bowl, with 100% of the proceeds to benefit Union Station Homeless Services. I personally spearheaded We Like L.A.’s marketing support strategy for the event, including web, social and email posts, as well as consulting influencer marketing outreach with the MoT public relations team. Playing our small part, we helped the festival raise $460,000 in its inaugural year. Masters of Taste has since become USHS’s signature fundraising event, with almost $3 million in proceeds generated since the inception. It’s also one of the best food events in Los Angeles, period.
  • In 2015 I was a judge at the Long Beach BBQ Festival. I’ll just go ahead and say it… this girl loves to eat!
Masters of Taste at the Rose Bowl

Before starting We Like L.A., my 5+ years in public relations provided a fantastic foundation of experience to build off. Here’s a bit of what that looked like:

  • As the marketing manager for 2tee Couture, I spearheaded the E-commerce website re-design, including writing of product copy, SEO optimization, wireframe review, email marketing, as well as hiring talent and styling lookbook photoshoots (2013-2014)
  • As the marketing lead for Hydros, I helped facilitate the West Coast product launch in Whole Foods Market and New Leaf Markets (2011-12)
  • Pioneered a client product campaign to become a top three worldwide trend on Twitter while working at TLK Fusion (2011-2012)
  • Coordinated events for various designers, including Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Steven Webster while working for Maxfield (2010-2011)
  • Coordinated Style Lounge gifting suites for the Emmys, Golden Globes and Sundance Film Festival while working at Feinstein & McGuiness Public Relations, now called KFPR (2009-2010)

Writing & Content Creation

I like to think I know something about good taste. But there’s a difference between being passionate about culture and food, and translating expertise into content that grabs people’s attention. That’s what I try to do in my work.

Each week I write the Dining & Drinks section for the We Like L.A. weekly and weekend to-do lists. Those recommendations are included in an email newsletter delivered straight to the inbox over 62,000 readers. In addition to the columns, I also produce weekly and monthly guides/stories for the website that highlight the food scene in Los Angeles.
